What Trump really means when he says 'America First'

“I needed it for my ego,” Trump announced, ironically at a prayer breakfast. His self-diagnosis sums it up. He believes whatever he says or does is true and right and demands likewise of others.  In his mind, if it’s good for Trump, then it’s good for America. He often uses the terms ‘America’ and ‘Trump’ interchangeably.   ‘America First’ actually means ‘Trump First’.

In Trump’s mind, a perceived personal injustice is an injustice to the U.S. and must be avenged. One example is Trump’s 10 billion dollar lawsuit against the IRS to avenge the leaking of his tax returns years ago. BTW, the leaker is in prison, and Trump basically paid zero taxes.  But he needs it . . . for his ego

Last year, despite ethical and legal conflicts, Trump personally profited $4 billion.  He says that means America is great again. The Constitution, the Courts, and the Rule of Law are ignored unless they serve Trump.  Like any good despot, he wants his name engraved on everything.  He needs it all . . . for his ego.

What do we get? Chaos in our streets, an economy rigged for the wealthy, and a massive sex trafficking cover-up.  Internationally? More chaos, war crimes, and a realignment with the despots of the world. All to satisfy . . . his ego, or Putin’s.

By enabling this abusive behavior, Wisconsin Republicans are endangering our national security.  If they continue to do nothing to rein in the self-dealing, grifting, and corruption, vote them out.
