Si se pudo! Voces de la Frontera Action on Wisconsin’s April 1st Election Results
Voces de la Frontera Action members remain committed to winning back driver’s licenses for immigrants, stronger and more inclusive workers’ rights, and fully funded public schools.

Voces de la Frontera release
Today, we celebrate the historic victory of Susan Crawford, the candidate endorsed by Voces de la Frontera Action in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. Her close to 10-point lead over MAGA candidate Brad Schimel demonstrates that voters support a Supreme Court that upholds fairness and impartiality rather than serving the interests of billionaires and corporate elites.
Voces de la Frontera Action Executive Director, Christine Neuman-Ortiz, said:
“The people of Wisconsin proudly prevailed over billionaire Elon Musk and Trump-backed Brad Schimel, rejecting efforts to buy and mislead voters in this election."
Voces de la Frontera Action and its youth arm, Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES), mobilized thousands of voters through the Voceros por el Voto relational voter network and canvassed in Racine and Fitchburg. Organizers called and texted voters, encouraging them to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
Voces Members and the broader Latine voting community were motivated to organize and vote by the escalating attacks on immigrants, workers, and social programs, combined with economic instability driven by anti-immigrant policies, tariff conflicts, and the growing risk of war.
The state Supreme Court race was crucial to protecting Wisconsin residents from policies associated with the Trump administration and its conservative U.S. Supreme Court. The victory safeguards the progress in securing fair electoral maps in 2024, paving the way for greater representation and accountability in the 2026 state elections. Voces de la Frontera Action members remain committed to winning back driver’s licenses for immigrants, stronger and more inclusive workers’ rights, and fully funded public schools.
We also congratulate our endorsed candidate, Jill Underly. Defending public school funding at the state level is crucial in the face of efforts to dismantle public education nationwide, including in Wisconsin. Underly has supported safe-haven policies that protect immigrant students and parents in and around schools, as well as other vulnerable youth.”
Voces de la Frontera Action Celebrates Key Local Wins, Condemns New Voting Restrictions
Youth Empowered in the Struggle organized a GOTV in Racine to support the $190 million 5-year school funding referendum for Racine Unified Schools. Thanks to our efforts, we widened the margin of victory to nearly 1,000 votes compared to the last school funding referendum, which was won by only 4 votes.
76 percent of Voces de la Frontera Action’s locally endorsed candidates secured key victories, ensuring strong leadership in frontline positions to protect families and communities from authoritarian policies.
We condemn the approval of the misleading constitutional amendment, which entrenches new barriers to voting in Wisconsin’s constitution. This policy restricts voting rights, particularly for the most marginalized communities, and requires a long-term statewide education campaign to restore and expand access to the ballot.
