And we are tethered to those people on a sheer cliff face half a mile up because, as fellow citizens, their horrible decision last November bound the rest of us to the insane policies and illegal actions Trump rushed into on Day 1 like a madman bent on the destruction of the world.
They say that nothing connects us anymore.
Unfortunately, that’s not true.
For those of us with an ounce of decency, any sense of history at all, and eyes and ears connected to our brains are in fact tragically tethered to the folks who saw fit to re-elect a person who is as profoundly unfit to be president as anyone in the course of this nation’s great run.
And we are tethered to those people on a sheer cliff face half a mile up because, as fellow citizens, their horrible decision last November bound the rest of us to the insane policies and illegal actions Trump rushed into on Day 1 like a madman bent on the destruction of the world.
And those MAGA voters are suspended above us without climbing gloves or cleats, without any understanding of climbing and, more ominously, without regard to their safety or anyone attached to the rope.
And so they hoot and holler while their man makes allies with Putin, abandons a sovereign nation overrun by a murderous dictator, guts government institutions of which they are wholly ignorant, creates a bogus “fraud” detector called DOGE which has repeatedly been found to be lying about EVERYTHING it says, starts the stupidest trade wars in history, plummets the stock market and turns a pretty decent economy into a predicted recession.
So yes, we’re all connected, sadly. Up until the time the Trump voters drag us all off the cliff face and into utter ruin. See you at the bottom.
