Hadestown is a Tony- and Grammy-award winning show still playing on Broadway. It is a high energy, modern musical retelling the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. It explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the tension between hope and despair. It takes the audience on a “hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.” The folk/jazz score was written by Anais Mitchell.
Hadestown: Teen Edition was just recently released for high school performance. Wegner says, “I’ve been a fan of the show since I saw it a few years ago, so when the rights became available for the teen edition we applied immediately.” The cast has been rehearsing since mid-December and is currently averaging about 20-25 hours a week.
