Here's hoping the legislature can get things done this session

I’m so happy to be back for another legislative session! For those who are new, this e-newsletter is usually sent the last week of the month to update you on state business, to highlight the work of our office and to provide a preview of upcoming events or dates you may find of interest. While I am a Democratic legislator, I represent all of you. I hope you will find my office to be respectful and responsive no matter if we agree on an issue or not. In turn, I ask the same from you. I am saddened to see a real change in how people (many outside of the district and even outside of Wisconsin) are choosing to interact with me and my office with accusations and disrespectful language. Whether it be phone calls or social media comments, the tone has changed from one of occasional disagreement to one of threats and insults. We are better than this. I hope that as the session progresses, when we find we disagree, we can do so respectfully. I hope that you realize that all of the work I do, whether in the district or in Madison, is with the purpose of making sure your lives are better. Lowering costs, increasing opportunity, keeping communities safe, keeping our environment clean, and making sure we have the freedom to be ourselves and pursue our dreams without harassment or interference is the goal!

Let’s work together to take Wisconsin (and District 52) forward!
