Civic organizations urge 'No' vote on constitutional amendment

More than 20 civic-minded organizations, including the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, have come out strongly against the proposed constitutional amendment on the April 1 ballot.
Wisconsin currently has a voter ID law that is considered one of the strictest in the nation. This constitutional amendment seeks to enshrine Wisconsin’s voter ID law in the state constitution. While the amendment would not significantly alter the current voter ID law, it would make it harder to change or improve in the future.
The groups issued a joint letter urging voters to reject the amendment by voting.
